Two Astroworld victims’ families settle lawsuit with Travis Scott and Live Nation

The lawsuit against Travis Scott and Live Nation includes seven families of victims of the 2013 concert suicide bombing and hostage stand-off between the rapper and concert promoters Live Nation in the Astroworld Theater, and his former producer Lil Wayne in the Loews Hollywood Bowl. Scott and his fellow co-defendants are fighting the legal demands in the suit filed Wednesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

The lawsuit also names the estates of three victims — Chris Brown, Tyrese Gibson and Kirk Franklin — of the 2013 concert suicide bombing and hostage stand-off between the rapper and concert promoters Live Nation in the Astroworld Theater, and his former producer Lil Wayne in the Loews Hollywood Bowl.

Chris Brown, Tyrese Gibson and Kirk Franklin, the three victims named in the lawsuit, were among the dead in the April 11 suicide bombing at the Astroworld concert venue. Brown, Gibson and Franklin were also among the victims in the 2013 stand-off between the rapper and Live Nation, which went on for more than a week as the star refused to appear on stage.

The families of Chris Brown, Tyrese Gibson and Kirk Franklin are among the seven victims named in the lawsuit.

The lawsuit claims a $25 million settlement will be reached with Scott and live nation before trial in March.

“Toward the end of our ordeal, our lives were irreparably damaged by the actions of Travis Scott and his co-defendants in bombing the Astroworld Theater and kidnapping the three members of the Chris Brown family,” said the families in a statement.

It’s unclear if a settlement is in store for the families of Kirk Franklin, Tyrese Gibson and Chris Brown. Brown’s family issued a statement
