Speaking to the L.A. Times, Leslie Jordan was always good for a sassy one-liner. When he was asked about his thoughts on the Raiders’ future in Oakland, Jordan, the Raiders’ owner, offered this:
“Do we have a future? That’s a question we have to answer. We’ve got to be the most competitive in the NFL. We’ve got a lot of young players. We have to be the most aggressive if we want to win. And then, of course, when you win, you’re the most powerful football team in the world. And we have to be the most powerful football team in the world, so that’s a long-term goal, one we have to answer.
“If we get to that point, I guess I would say, ‘Good luck, Raiders.’ But we have to do this. We have to become a contender, not an afterthought. That’s our job to do it. And I would tell my players, if they’re good enough, they’ll be happy to be in that position.”
