King Charles had a crush on ‘pinup’ Barbra Streisand, ‘Dynasty’ star Joan Collins, royal author claims
A new book by royal biographer Andrew Morton claims King Charles was infatuated with several famous Hollywood stars.
According to the book ‘Charles: A Life in Decline’, the king was in the habit of attending shows with actress-singer Barbra Streisand in the late 1950s as well as the shows with Joan Collins, who was married to actor Richard Burton.
The book also claims that when the Duke of Edinburgh met the star of ‘Dancing With the Stars’ he tried to engage the singer into a spin-off show.
Charles is thought to have met Collins in October 1962 when she went to meet him at Windsor Castle for her Royal Variety Performance.
She said her royal host treated her ‘like royalty’, according to the book, published last week.

Charles was also seen with film actress Elizabeth Taylor and the singer Frank Sinatra in the late 1950s.
The book, entitled ‘Charles: A Life in Decline’, claims that the king had a crush on Barbra during the late 1950s, and was on a date with her on several occasions.
The star is said to have responded to Charles’ attempts to get her into a spin-off show.
One evening, the author explains, when Charles was staying at Windsor Castle, the king, according to the memoir, had met Elizabeth Taylor on the lawns of the castle’s west wing.
