Joanna Gaines revealed how much she enjoys life as the mother of two young children.
In a candid chat with The Sunday Times, the 49-year-old TV star – whose children are three-year-old daughter Bella and 21-month-old son Arthur – said she wants to get’sexier’ with age and not be frightened of things she would have been afraid of in her youth.
Gaines also revealed she has been in good spirits recently and would like to be more spontaneous in her 40s: ‘If you are open to it and take the risks – it is a lot easier to take risks in a 40s than it is in your 20s and 30s.
And: ‘I would like to be more spontaneous in my 40s. I think now I am more spontaneous in some ways than I was in my 20s. I am enjoying it now and just want to do more things.’
When she was a young mother, Gaines said she always told herself she would love to be more spontaneous and live more freely.
She told the Sunday Times: ‘I think you have to be open to what the future brings.
‘You have to be open to the fact that even if the child is asleep, you don’t take a picture or get up and go watch something.
‘You get up. You do it. And you wait. Then you do it again.’
Her children’s relationship with their parents is what has helped her embrace more spontaneity: ‘They’re two little kids, and you just have to get into that. If you don’t, it’s like living in a prison.’
